Phillies bolster bench with Nix

The Phillies have agreed to terms with 31-year-old outfielder Laynce Nix on a two-year deal, according to multiple media sources.

A nine-year veteran who batted .250 last year  with a career-high 16 home runs with 44 RBI in 124 games for the Washington Nationals, Nix has also spent time with Texas, Milwaukee and Cincinnati.

The left-handed hitting Nix can play both left and right field.
