Prior to tonight's game Flyers general manager Paul Holmgren announced that forwards Brayden Schenn and Danny Briere will both be inserted into tonight's lineup against the Tampa Bay Lightning at the St. Pete Times Forum.
Schenn is returning to action for the first time since December 3 at Phoenix, having missed the last nine games due to symptoms from a mild concussion.
The 20-year-old has missed considerable time this season after suffering a shoulder injury during preseason that kept him out of the lineup for the opening two weeks, while also suffering a broken foot at Montreal on October 26 that kept him out of the lineup for an additional 14 games.
Schenn has appeared in just six regular season games for the Flyers in his rookie season, but lit up the AHL in between his call-ups.
Briere returns to action having missed only one game, last Friday's 4-2 loss to the Rangers. Briere was sidelined due to a bruised hand but has been practicing with the team for the past two days.
Briere is fourth on the team in points with 10 goals and 15 assists for 25 points, and is one of six players on the Flyers to have recorded 10 or more goals this season.
In 31 games so far, Briere has recorded an average of 18:38 of ice-time, which is second among all forwards behind only Claude Giroux (21:23).
