Better late than never?

The Philadelphia 76ers desperately tried to trade up to acquire Chinese star Yi Jianlian in the NBA Draft on Thursday. The Sixers reportedly offered all three first round picks, Steven Hunter and Rodney Carney to the Milwaukee Bucks to move up to the sixth spot. But, the Bucks balked despite Yi's representatives making it clear that the 7-footer did not want to play in Milwaukee.

Yi did not travel to Milwaukee for his post-draft introduction and his agents are still seeking a trade which could put the Sixers back in the picture.

"Our agent team had meetings to study this case immediately after the draft," said Yi's Chinese agent Zhao Gang. "Yi's selection at six has proved his capabilities and value. However, we feel that the Bucks are not the best fit for Yi Jianlian. Our team will make contact with other teams who have watched Yi's training and games to see if there is any possibility of a trade."
