Former Fox News correspondent Claire Godfrey pleaded guilty Tuesday in Albany County District Court to criminal diversion of prescription medicines. Godfrey avoided jail time, however, by agreeing to cooperate with Albany district attorney David Soares' ongoing steroids investigation.
The 36-year old Godfrey worked at an anti-aging clinic in Orlando, Fla. and was arrested in March for issuing prescriptions for steroids with Signature Pharmacy, the center of Soares' investigation.
Godfrey reportedly wrote illegal prescriptions worth more than $1.3 million for steroids and other performance-enhancing drugs last year and sold performance-enhancing drugs to at least two World Wrestling Entertainment stars without examining them.
The wrestlers in question did not include Chris Benoit, the WWE star who murdered his wife and son before committing suicide last month.
