The Philadelphia Eagles named Jeff Nixon special teams quality control coach on Thursday.

The 32-year-old Nixon previously served as the running backs coach at Temple University in 2006. Following the season, Nixon was named wide receivers coach and community service representative at Temple before accepting his new post further south on Broad Street.

Nixon began his coaching career in 1997 as a student assistant coach at Penn State. He went on to serve as an assistant coach at Princeton (1998), Shippensburg (1999-2002), and Tennessee-Chattanooga (2003-05).

Nixon was a running back and special teamer for West Virginia from 1993-94 before transferring to Penn State, where he lettered in 1996 and earned spots on both the Dean's List and the Big Ten Conference All-Academic Team.
