The Philadelphia Eagles signed free agent defensive tackle Montae Reagor to a three-year contract.
Reagor (6-3, 285), a veteran of eight NFL seasons, has spent the last four with the Indianapolis Colts where he recorded 112 tackles and 12 sacks in 47 games (45 starts). He also started all six postseason games that he appeared in with the Colts, recording 24 tackles and two sacks. From 2004-05, Reagor ranked fourth among all NFL defensive tackles with 10.5 sacks and third in QB pressures with 51.
After starting the first five games of 2006 at left defensive tackle, Reagor’s season was cut short due to a car accident prior to the Colts game vs. Washington on October 22. After spending the next six games on the inactive list, he was finally placed on the Non-Football Injury list on November 29, where he remained for the balance of the season.
The 29-year-old Reagor has registered 162 tackles, 16 sacks, and one interception in 92 career games (46 starts). Originally a second-round draft choice of Denver in 1999, the 58th overall selection, he spent the first four years of his career with the Broncos. While in Denver, Reagor recorded 50 tackles and four sacks in 45 games.
A native of Waxahachie, TX, Reagor was a four-year starter at Texas Tech where he holds the school records for career sacks (24.5) and tackles for loss (47). As a senior, he was a consensus All-American and a first-team All-Big 12 selection. Reagor graduated in less than four years with a degree in exercise and sports management.
***The NFL Network's Adam Schefter reports the deal is worth $8.25 million over three years, with $2 million in guaranteed money.
