Tomlinson, Neal lead Phanatic All-Pro Team

Release from The Phanatic

Philadelphia, PA (The Phanatic) - The entire San Diego backfield and shutdown Denver cornerback Champ Bailey were unanimous selections to The Phanatic's first NFL All-Pro team, as voted on by a panel of nine staff writers.

Opinions were varied on the defensive side of the ball other than San Diego linebacker Shawne Merriman and Bailey, who is widely known as the best cornerback in the game. Bailey may have had his best overall season in 2006, with career highs in tackles (86) and interceptions (10). He now has 39 interceptions in his distinguished eight-year career out of Georgia.

Tomlinson's season will become a gold standard for epic excellence in the future. He not only rushed for a career-high 1815 yards but set an NFL record with 31 touchdowns, 12 more than Kansas City running back Larry Johnson and 15 more than four other players including Pittsburgh's Willie Parker.

The Phanatic also gave Tomlinson's leading blocker his just due, unanimously naming Lorenzo Neal to the All-Pro team. Neal's stats are looked at relative to Tomlinson's success, and the powerful lead blocker has paved the way for the Hall of Famer over the past four seasons.
