Sixers make it official with Young

LouWill's replacement, Nick Young
PHILADELPHIA – The Sixers have made it official with free agent guard Nick Young.

Young (6-foot-7, 210) was originally the 16th overall pick by Washington in the 2007 NBA Draft.  He spent his first four and a half seasons with the Wizards before being traded to the L.A. Clippers back in March.

In 357 career games with 105 starts, Young is averaging 11.4 points and 1.9 rebounds in 22.9 minutes per game while shooting 42.9% from the floor, 37.8% from 3-point range and 82.8% from the line.  He has never shot below 80.0% from the line in any of his five seasons.

Over the past two seasons, Young has averaged 15.8 points and 1.7 3-pointers made.  He is one of 17 players over that span who have hit at least 200 3-pointers while shooting 37.5% from behind-the-arc or better.

Young, who turned 27 years old last month, is a native of California and attended USC.  He earned First Team All-Pac-10 honors in his final two seasons with the Trojans.
