VA linebacker commits to Temple

Philadelphia. PA -- Sharif Finch, a senior linebacker at Henrico High School in Richmond, Virginia, has given a verbal commitment to play at Temple on Friday afternoon.

The 6-foot-4, 215-pounder will sign a binding national letter of intent on Wednesday. Finch recorded 84 tackles, five sacks forced five fumbles, blocked two punts and a field goal, and was also credited with a safety during his senior season.

Finch also received offers from Western Michigan, East Carolina, James Madison, Old Dominion, Richmond, Hampton, Norfolk State, Elon and William & Mary.

The native of Queens, NY also posted 161 stops and 10 1/2 sacks as a junior.
