It wouldn't be the Philadelphia Flyers on a Sunday without a bit of intrigue.
Following a 3-0-1 homestand and just prior to opening up a six-game road swing tomorrow, Flyers GM Paul Holmgren announced that Michael Leighton will miss 7-to-10 days with an unknown upper-body injury which will apparently keep him sidelined.
Leighton has only played in one game this season, a 5-1 loss at Tampa on January 27.
That means everyone gets bumped up a notch. Brian Boucher was recalled from the Adirondack Phantoms, and Cal Heeter was brought up from Trenton of the ECHL to take his place.
The 36-year-old Boucher went 2-4-0 with a 2.71 goals against average in six appearances since the Flyers brought him back into the organization. He will be wearing his familiar No. 33.
Philadelphia starts its sojourn in Toronto on Monday night.
