PHILADELPHIA - The Eagles have signed offensive tackle Ed Wang to a two-year contract.
Wang (6-foot-5, 315) became the first-ever Chinese-American to be selected in the NFL draft in 2010 after being taken in the fifth round by the Buffalo Bills. He played in six games as a reserve offensive lineman in his rookie campaign before being placed on injured reserve by Buffalo prior to the start of the 2011 season.
The 25-year-old signed with the Oakland Raiders in the 2012 offseason but did not make the team.
A four-year letterman at Virginia Tech, Wang started the final 35 games of his career and earned second-team All-ACC honors as a senior left tackle as he helped pave the way for an offense that ranked 14th in the nation in rushing, averaging 208.2 yards per game on the ground. He began his college career as a tight end before making the switch to the offensive line as a sophomore.
