Velasquez - Dos Santos to headline first UFC FOX card

The heavyweights will headline UFC's debut on network television.

UFC president Dana White announced on a conference call today that Cain Velasquez will defend his UFC heavyweight crown against Junior Dos Santos in the main event of UFC on FOX 1, which takes place Nov. 12 at Honda Center in Anaheim, Calif.

The event will be the first under a new seven-year, $700 million dollar deal between the UFC and FOX, a partnership that will also include programming on FX and FUEL TV.

Velasquez is 9-0 since turning pro in 2006. The California-based American Kickboxing Academy product won the title with a first-round TKO of Brock Lesnar in October and has been been sidelined ever since after undergoing surgery for a torn rotator cuff.

Dos Santos won a unanimous decision over Shane Carwin in this past June's UFC 131 main event to earn the title shot.
