PHILADELPHIA - Saint Joseph's men's basketball schedule for 2011-12 is set as the Atlantic 10 Conference announced the full league slate today. Game times and the complete television schedule will be announced at a later date.
The Hawks open conference play at Duquesne on January 4 and then return home to Michael J. Hagan '85 Arena for consecutive games against Charlotte on January 7 and Fordham on January 11. Saint Joseph's will then play two straight games on the road, at Massachusetts on January 14 and at Xavier on January 18.
After a break from the A-10 schedule with a Big 5 matchup against Penn at The Palestra on January 21, the Hawks play two more games in Philadelphia. SJU will host Dayton on January 25 and visit Temple on January 28.
Saint Joseph's travels to Richmond on February 1 and will host La Salle on February 4 at The Palestra. The Hawks remain in Philadelphia for two more games, with contests against Saint Louis and Massachusetts at Hagan Arena on February 8 and 11, respectively.
The Hawks will visit Rhode Island on February 15 followed by a trip to George Washington on February 18 and a home game with Richmond on February 22. In the regular-season finale on February 25, SJU will host Temple at Hagan Arena, marking the first time the rivalry will be played on Saint Joseph's campus since February 13, 2001.
SJU closes out the regular season on February 29 at St. Bonaventure and has a bye weekend before the Atlantic 10 Tournament begins on March 6 with the first round at campus sites. The tournament moves to Atlantic City's Boardwalk Hall for the quarterfinals on March 9, which will be televised by CBS Sports Regional Network. The semifinals are set for March 10 and will be seen on CBS Sports Network, with the championship game to take place on March 11, with the national telecast on CBS Sports.
