Eagles' Mornhinweg expected to be candidate for Browns' head coaching job

The Akron Beacon Journal is already reporting that Eagles offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg is expected to be among a small group of candidates for the Cleveland Browns head coaching position.

The Brown fired Eric Mangini Monday morning.

Mike Holmgren, Cleveland's football chief, has had a long-time relationship with Mornhinweg stemming from the tutelage of legendary former San Francisco 49ers Hall of Fame head coach Bill Walsh. Meanwhile, former Eagles general manager Tom Heckert holds the same position in the Forest City now and has a solid relationship with Mornhinweg.

The Browns are also expected to look at other candidates from the Holmgren tree, including ESPN analyst Jon Gruden.
