The Philadelphia Eagles signed free agent DT Ian Scott to a one-year contract on Thursday.
The 25-year-old Scott (6-2, 302) started in all three playoff games for the Chicago Bears in 2006, including Super Bowl 41. In 18 games (including playoffs), Scott registered 41 tackles, four tackles for a loss, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery.
Originally a 4th round draft choice of the Bears in 2003, Scott appeared in 49 regular season games (33 starts) in four seasons with Chicago, posting 155 tackles, 18 tackles for a loss, two sacks, and one interception. Additionally, Scott has started in all four playoff games the Bears have played since 2003.
A three-year defensive tackle at Florida, Scott decided to enter the NFL draft following his junior season after posting 57 tackles, seven tackles for a loss, and one sack. He also earned second-team All-SEC honors as a sophomore.
The Gainesville, FL, native attended Gainesville High School, where he earned All-America honors as a senior.
