The Inquirer's Todd Zolecki offered some insight Friday on the Phillies and the upcoming winter meetings.
First, Zolecki wrote the Phillies could still be interested in reliever Joe Borowski, who reportedly was offered a two-year deal from the club before failing a physical. The Phils would sign Borowski to a one-year deal with incentives.
Former Cincinnati closer David Weathers would be plan B if the Phillies don't sign Borowski, unless the Reds offer Weathers salary arbitration.
In other Phillies news, Zolecki said Philadelphia will offer David Dellucci arbitration, meaning the team will get Cleveland's second-round pick if Dellucci signs with the Indians as expected.
