The Philadelphia Eagles today announced they have promoted running back Bruce Perry from the practice squad and signed linebacker Greg Richmond to the practice squad.
A seventh round draft choice of the Eagles in 2004, Perry played in the 2006 season opener at Houston and returned three kickoffs for 57 yards. After being released on September 12, Perry signed to the practice squad a week later and has remained there for the balance of the season.
A Philadelphia native and a George Washington High School graduate, Perry spent the first 15 weeks of the 2005 season on the Eagles practice squad before being activated for the final two contests.
A shoulder injury forced him to spend his entire rookie campaign on the injured reserve list.
Richmond was originally signed as a rookie free agent out of Oklahoma State in 2004. He spent his rookie season on the Eagles practice squad and the 2005 campaign on the physically unable to perform list after suffering a herniated disc in his lower back.
Richmond attended training camp with the Eagles in 2006, but was released prior to the start of the regular season.
