It was tough getting a handle on all of the Allen Iverson rumors that were floating inside the Wachovia Center tonight.
But, I'm confident Billy King had concrete offers from both Golden State and Indiana in his pocket sometime early this week. The fact that the embattled general manager didn't pull the trigger reveals a lot about his intentions. King is centered on acquiring contracts on the verge of expiring and a No. 1 pick and no single team can offer that to the Sixers.
My gut feeling is that when this finally gets done, it will be a three or four team deal and take any denials at this point with a grain of salt.
A columnist in my old hub of Minneapolis swore up and down to me that Timberwolves owner Glen Taylor, a Mankato, Minnesota based billionaire, had no interest in adding Iverson's three years to his existing payroll.
Meanwhile, Denver Nuggets' coach George Karl told his local media that the Nuggets were no longer in the running for Iverson.
Now, both teams are back in the mix in possible multi-trade deals.
Stay tuned....
