PHILADELPHIA —At this past Sunday’s annual “Salute To Philly Boxing” Awards
Dinner, Joey Eye Boxing Promotions was selected at the 2011 Philadelphia
Promoter of the Year.
Joey Eye Boxing, which has been promoting fights for the
better part of a decade, made a big splash in 2011 by promoting five big events
at Harrahs in Chester and signed two of the most popular fighters in the area
in Tony Ferrante and Victor Vasquez.
“I would like to thank everyone for this award”, said
promoter Joey “Eye” Intrieri. “I want to thank my partner David Feldman, matchmaker Nick
Tiberi, PR man Marc Abrams as well Victor and Tony. We have some great plans for 2012 and February looks to be
a huge month as Victor is fighting Dorin Spivey on February 4th in
Atlantic City. When Victor wins that
fight, he will be ranked by the WBA and will be this close to fighting for
world title.
“On February 24th, we are back at Harrahs where
Tony will be fighting in his biggest fight when he takes on former world title
challenger Omar Sheika. When these guys
win these fights, it puts us in position for some major thingg."
