Eagles' Celek has surgery

The Eagles have confirmed that tight end Brent Celek underwent surgery to repair a sports hernia as well as a torn labrum in his left hip.

Both procedures were performed concurrently on Tuesday and described as successful.

Celek finished second on the team this year with 62 catches for 811 yards and five touchdowns. He joined Jeremy Maclin and DeSean Jackson as the first trio of Eagles to each top the 800-yard plateau in a season in team history.
