Union settle for 1-1 draw with Seattle

Alvbaro Fernandez headed the ball off the post and past Union goal keeper Faryd Mondragan in stoppage time as the Philadelphia Union settled for a 1-1 draw with the Seattle Sounders FC at a rainy and windy PPL Park..

The Union led for most of the match after striker Carlos Ruiz scored his second goal of the season in the 32nd minute, firing a beautiful bending shot past Seattle’s Kasey Keller.

The draw cost the Union (3-1-1) two points, but they remain atop the Eastern Table with 10 points in five matches.

The Union return to action in two weeks when they host the San Jose Earthquakes visit PPL Park.
