The Phillies have signed manager Charlie Manuel to a two-year contract extension.
Financial terms were not disclosed, but the new pact will keep Manuel with the club through the 2013 season.
Manuel has been the club's manager since 2005 and has guided the Phillies to a four straight National League East titles, a pair of NL pennants and one World Series crown. He has a regular season record of 544-428 during his tenure in Philadelphia.
"We are pleased to have come to terms with Charlie," said Phillies general manager Ruben Amaro in a statement. "He has been an integral part of the success we've had over the past several years. There was little doubt that he was going to continue to be our skipper past his current contract and we look forward to the next three years with the hopes of continued success."
The Phillies enter the 2011 campaign gunning for a fifth straight division crown. After winning the NL East in 2007, the Phils captured their second World Series title in 2008 and reached a second straight Fall Classic in 2009. Philadelphia won the NL East last year with an MLB-best mark of 97-65 and lost to eventual World Series champion San Francisco in the National League Championship Series.
