Sixers go cold late, fall to Mavs

Philadelphia - Lou Williams meet Jason Terry.

The Sixers sixth man, one of the best in the NBA this season, was schooled by Dallas' version as the red-hot Mavericks outlasted the Sixers, 101-93.

Terry came off the bench to pour in a season-high 30 points on 13-of-18 shooting, while Jason Kidd finished with 13 points, 13 assists and 10 rebounds for his second triple-double of the season and 107th of his career for the Mavericks, who have won seven straight and 17 of their last 18 overall.

"Terry had a great game," Dallas coach Rick Carlisle said. "He gave us a real lift in the first half and then in the second half down the stretch. He kept answering and that was key for us."

Dirk Nowitzki supplied 22 points and six boards while Shawn Marion chipped in with 10 points and 10 caroms as Dallas won its fifth straight road contest.

Williams, in contrast, was just 1-of-8 from the field and scored only five points.

Jodie Meeks scored 16 points while Jrue Holiday provided 14 points, seven rebounds and six assists for the Sixers, who had a season-high four-game win streak snapped.

Andre Iguodala contributed 15 points and seven boards and Thaddeus Young added 13 points and seven caroms in a reserve role for the hosts, who fell back to the .500 mark after losing to the Mavericks for the fifth time in the last six meetings.

The Sixers simply went cold in the fourth quarter, being outscored 22-16 and making just 6-of-21 from the floor and an even more miserable 3-of-10 from the free throw line.

Six Shots:

*The Mavs are 33-2 when they reach the century mark in scoring. Conversely, the Sixers are 2-18 when allowing 100-plus points.

*Kidd trails only Oscar Robertson (181) and Magic Johnson (138) in career triple-doubles.
