Sixers' Young to miss 2-3 weeks

An MRI performed on Thaddeus Young's right ankle confirmed an ankle sprain and bone bruise.

Young, who is averaging 15. 2 points and 5.0 rebounds in 73 games this season, will miss two to three weeks.

That means Young will miss the rest of the regular season as the Sixers try and nail down a better playoff spot and could miss the beginning of the team's first round playoff series.

The former Georgia Tech star, who was examined by team Orthopedist and Medical Director Dr. Jack McPhilemy of Main Line Health, is currently walking with the assistance of crutches and also wearing a removable air cast.

Rookie Marreese Speights and veterans Reggie Evans and Theo Ratliff all figure to get more playing time in Young's absence.
