Pro Football Talk is reporting that the Eagles have contacted at least one team about trading enigmatic Pro Bowl guard Shawn Andrews.
Andrews missed training camp last year, citing clinical depression, and then suffered a back injury in the second week of the season and never returned to the field.
The Eagles signed Andrews' brother, Stacy, to a big-money free-agent deal this offseason and then traded for his college roommate at Arkansas, Jason Peters. Although the Eagles clearly like both players, most speculated the signings were also designed to help Andrews, a player most consider the second best guard in football (behind Minnesota's Steve Hutchinson) when healthy.
However, Andrews is now reportedly not happy with his own contract now that his brother and Peters signed massive deals.
Andrews is signed through 2015 at base salaries of $750,000 (2009), $2 million (2010), $2.5 million (2011), $2.75 million (2012), $3.75 million (2013), $5.25 million (2014), and $6.25 million (2015).
