In his Flyers Notes section on Philly.com, Tim Panaccio writes that the Flyers are working on deals with forwards Sami Kapanen and Kyle Calder.
The 33-year-old Kapanen has seven goals and six assists this season and has flirted with retirement the past two years. However, it appears he still wants to play and, according to Panaccio, there are teams interested in the Fin if the Flyers want to move him, which they say they will not do.
Kapanen is in the final year of a three-year deal.
Calder, meanwhile, was acquired from Chicago in a trade that sent the popular Michal Handzus to the Blackhawks. Calder got off to a miserable start with the Flyers, but has played much better as of late and has eight goals on the season.
