According to a TSN Radio insider at the team's practice facility in Brossard, Quebec, the Montreal Canadiens have reportedly inked free agent Danny Briere.
Terms are $8 million for the next two seasons.
Briere was memorably booed by the Bell Centre faithful for many years after spurning the Habs en route to signing with Philadelphia in July of 2007.
However, minutes later, several additional sources indicated no deal was on the table. Under current NHL rules, no deals can be made in the 48-hour window leading up to Friday, only interviews with prospective UFAs.
