Lauridsen returns on a two-year deal

Oliver Lauridsen, everyone's favorite awkward softball player from last year's Trial on the Isle in Stone Harbor, will return to the Flyers thanks to a new two-year deal.

The club announced the move on Wednesday, one day after defenseman Erik Gustafsson -- also a restricted free agent -- was inked to a one-year contract.

Per team policy, no financial terms were revealed, but later reports state it is for $600,000 per season. Additional reports cite the deal is two-way for next season and one-way in 2014-15.

Lauridsen, the 24-year-old native of Denmark, posted one goal and five assists in 59 games with the Adirondack Phantoms before getting his initial NHL call-up on March 30.

He tallied his first career goal less than a month later, thanks to the machinations of Bruins captain Zdeno Chara on April 23, and went on to record two scores and three points in 15 contests last year with the Flyers.

Gustafsson participated in 27 games in 2013, tallying three goals and five assists.
