The Philadelphia Soul were involved in a three-way trade Tuesday that sent quarterback Justin Allgood to the Tulsa Talons for the rights to wide receiver Rodney Wright. The team then traded Wright to the San Jose SaberCats in exchange for lineman Patrick Afif and future considerations.
“We were able to address a need and get value back for Justin,” said Soul head coach Mike Hohensee. “I think the moves helped all teams involved and allowed us to continue to improve the team as we battle for the Eastern Division title.”
Afif, who is in his third year in the AFL, was an anchor on San Jose’s offensive line during their 2007 ArenaBowl XXI victory. Afif played with the Orlando Predators in 2010. The future considerations could involve a player on San Jose roster and would need to be completed by June 29.
