Phillies pitcher Roy Oswalt will miss his next scheduled start, Saturday against the Braves, with back problems.
A report from the Philadelphia Inquirer said Oswalt could go on the disabled list with soreness.
The veteran right-hander, who has gone 3-1 with a 3.33 earned run average this season, hasn't pitched since April 26. Oswalt allowed five runs in three innings in that start against Arizona, and left the Phillies the following day for his home in Mississippi, where tornadoes had caused massive damage.
With Oswalt out, the Phillies will start Kyle Kendrick, who has made eight relief appearances this season.Kendrick will oppose one of the top pitching prospects in baseball, Julio Teheran, who will make his major league debut.
