PHILADELPHIA (9/20/10) - The Temple University Department of Intercollegiate Athletics announced on Monday a new three-game football scheduling agreement with Penn State University. The Owls will play at PSU during the 2014 and 2016 seasons while hosting the Nittany Lions in 2015.
"Temple is pleased to announce our new agreement with the Nittany Lions, one of the truly great football programs in the history of college football," said Athletic Director Bill Bradshaw. "This assures that the series will continue six of the next seven years."
Temple and Penn State have met 39 times on the gridiron in a series that dates back to 1931. PSU holds a 35-3-1 advantage. Scheduled to play this Saturday in Happy Valley, the teams were already slated to play through the 2012 season. The Temple-Penn State series is the longest active series in TU school history (second-longest overall).
