The Philadelphia Flyers announced Wednesday that veteran defenseman Derian Hatcher will have surgery on his left knee Thursday, and will miss 3-4 weeks.
The Flyers recalled 24-year old defenseman Nate Guenin from the AHL's Philadelphia Phantoms to take Hatcher's roster spot.
