Eagles offensive line honored

The Eagles offensive line has been awarded the Week 8 Madden Protectors Award after their rout of the Dallas Cowboys.

Featuring two rookies, the offensive line allowed the Eagles to successfully run against the league’s best run defense en route to a 27-point victory.

The Madden Protectors Award recognizes the fundamental role offensive linemen play in their teams’ success by providing consistent and powerful protection day in and day out.

Philadelphia notched their third win of the season under Head Coach ANDY REID, now in his 13th year leading the Eagles. The offensive line starts outside with tackles JASON PETERS (Arkansas) and TODD HERREMANS (Saginaw Valley State). The guards providing protection inside are EVAN MATHIS (Alabama) and rookie DANNY WATKINS (Baylor). Calling the signals from the center position is rookie JASON KELCE (Cincinnati). Tackle KING DUNLAP (Auburn) and center JAMAAL JACKSON (Delaware State) also saw action. Offensive line coach HOWARD MUDD is in his 37th year in the NFL, and first season with the Eagles. McCoy rushed 185 yards and two scores on 30 carries, while tight end BRENT CELEK (Cincinnati) caught 7 balls for 94 yards and a touchdown. Reid is now a perfect 13-and-0 in games following the Eagles’ bye week.
“The Eagles offensive line had a well balanced attack against the number one defense against the run,” said Pro Football Hall of Fame Coach JOHN MADDEN.
