Eagles and LB Jordan agree on 2-year deal

PHILADELPHIA - The Eagles and veteran backup linebacker Akeem Jordan have agreed on a two-year contract.

Originally an undrafted free agent signing of the Eagles in 2007, Jordan was promoted from the practice squad to the active roster during his rookie season and has spent the last four seasons with the Eagles (2007-10). The 6-foot-1, 230-pound linebacker has played at all three linebacker positions, amassing 181 tackles, one sack and two interceptions in 53 career games (20 starts), while also contributing 71 special teams tackles. In 2010, he led the team in special teams production points (258), while ranking second with 16 special teams tackles. He signed a one-year contract to remain in Philadelphia on 7/30/11.

A native of Harrisonburg, VA, Jordan attended division I-AA James Madison University, where he won a national championship in 2004.
