The Flyers have signed left wing Tye McGinn to an entry-level contract.
McGinn, 20, was selected by the Flyers in the fourth round (119th overall) of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft. He has spent the past three seasons with the Gatineau Olympiques of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, where in 2010-11 he scored 31 goals and added 33 assists for 64 points in 42 games.
The Fergus, Ontario native was second on Gatineau’s roster in scoring last season, and was the team’s leading scorer in 2009-10 with 62 points (27-35-62). He has a total plus-minus rating of plus-45 over the past two seasons. In 140 career games with Gatineau, McGinn has posted 66 goals and 90 assists for 156 points.
