Santa Clara, Ca – The San Francisco 49ers have named Bob Lange as the team’s Director of Football Public Relations. Lange will be responsible for directing the club’s football public relations efforts and will serve as a liaison with the local and national media.

“We are excited about adding Bob Lange to the 49ers organization,” said Team President Jed York. “Bob has established a successful track record in the field of public relations while working for the Philadelphia Eagles the past eight years. His past experience in a large media market will be beneficial to the organization as he transitions into this new role.”

Lange joins San Francisco after serving as the Eagles’ Assistant Director of Football Media Services since 2001. During his time in Philadelphia, Lange served as the key point person for the players and implemented numerous publicity strategies for the organization. The Eagles Football Media Services Group was recognized as a top-notch public relations department, winning the Pete Rozelle award following the 2001 and 2004 seasons from the Pro Football Writers Association.

Prior to the Eagles, Lange was the assistant director of Sports Media Relations for Temple University, where he served as the primary contact for the football program. Lange is a graduate of Fairfield University in Connecticut and is a native of Philadelphia. He and his wife, Rachael, have a one-year-old daughter, Charlotte.
