The Philadelphia Flyers announced today that they have recalled forward Andreas Nodl from the Flyers’ American Hockey League affiliate, the Philadelphia Phantoms, according to club General Manager Paul Holmgren. Nodl has been assigned uniform number #14.
Nodl, 21, recorded a goal and two assists for three points and six penalty minutes in five games for the Phantoms this season. He split the 2007-08 season, between the St. Cloud State Huskies of the Western Collegiate Hockey Association and the Phantoms, registering 18 goals and 26 assists for 44 points and 22 penalty minutes in 40 games for the Huskies and a goal in three regular season games for the Phantoms. He also scored a goal in 10 playoff games for the Phantoms last season. In two seasons at St. Cloud State, Nodl recorded 36 goals and 54 assists for 90 points and 54 penalty minutes in 80 games. He was named to the WCHA All-Rookie Team and WCHA Rookie of the Year following the 2006-07 season and was named to the WCHA Second All-Star Team following the 2007-08 season.
A native of Vienna, Austria, Nodl was drafted by the Flyers in the second round (39th overall) of the 2006 NHL Entry Draft.
