Specter is a sore loser

Senator Arlen Specter (R-Pa.) told the New York Times that he wants NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell to testify before the Senate Judiciary Committee regarding the destruction of the materials that the New England Patriots surrendered in connection with the investigation that found a team employee had been videotaping defensive coaching signals, in violation of league rules, during a Week One win over the Jets.

"That requires an explanation," Specter told the Times. "The [NFL] has a very preferred status in our country with their antitrust exemption. The American people are entitled to be sure about the integrity of the game. It's analogous to the [CIA] destruction of tapes. Or any time you have records destroyed."

Let' see....
1)Patriots and League dispute over the taping being legal or not
2) The Patriots surrender the tapes as ordered by the League. Not happy about it, but complying
3) The League receives the tapes, publicly scolds the Patriot organization lays out some very expensive and high impact fines and punishments to the Organization and the Coach personally, and destroys the tapes.
Note - Even the Patriots admitted they made the tapes. The dispute was the League felt they crossed the line and the Patriots did not agree.
My question is ... So what is the problem? Fans will decide if the Patriots or the League are the evil entity, they will adjust their feelings and response to who they decide is wrong, and that will be it.
This was NOT breaking a law, it was about a "sports league regulation!"
I am a Republican and a Conservative but I must demand that Senator Spector shut up!
You are making the rest of us look stupid, and to compare this trivial sports entertainment rules infraction with the CIA tapes dispute is a terrible disservice to our CIA representatives who do our country's most thankless job, yet everyday they risk and lose their lives to protect the USA!
The Senator has far to much time on his hands.
This means that some important issue that actually effects the safety, prosperity, and quality of life for all our citizens will not get a hearing as soon as it should because Senator Spector is looking for what?
Senator, you have been a great representative of the Republican Party, but it is time to put up your feet up and retire.
