Though born in Colorado, Michael Sdao chose to take the college route in the Ivy League and play for the Princeton Tigers.
Following a senior season in which he totaled eight goals and 15 points in 31 games, the Princeton defenseman was signed to a one-year, entry-level contract by the Senators, according to the Ottawa Citizen on Friday.
Sdao, 23, completes his collegiate career with 26 goals and 28 assists in 119 games over four years. He will report to the club's AHL affiliate in Binghamton for the remainder of the season.
The Tigers completed their 2013 schedule with back-to-back losses to Cornell in the opening round of the ECAC playoffs.
