PHILADELPHIA (The Phanatic Magazine) - The Philadelphia Union have traded steady defender Jordan Harvey to the Vancouver Whitecaps FC in exchange for allocation money.
Harvey originally joined the Union via the Major League Soccer Expansion Draft on November 25, 2009, thus becoming a Union original.
Harvey arrived in Philadelphia from the Colorado Rapids, where he made his professional debut in MLS against D.C. United in 2008.
Since joining the Union, the UCLA grad has started all but one of 46 league matches with Philadelphia, logging a total of 3,861 minutes. Harvey scored his first professional goal with the Union in a match against Toronto FC on April 15, 2010.
