PHILADELPHIA (The Phanatic Magazine) - Two days before UFC 133 invades South Philly, Locked in the Cage will hold its latest MMA event, Thursday Night Fights 2, at the Asylum Arena.
Wilson Reis (12-3), a Brazilian-born BJJ black belt, former EliteXC Featherweight Champion, and a veteran of two Bellator 145 Lbs tournaments, will take on Farkhad Sharipov (13-3) in the main event at a 140-pound catchweight. Sharipov is a former Russian National wrestling team member and is the first Kyrgyzstan national freestyle wrestling champion.
To further entice amateur wrestling fans, American Olympic team alternate and current University of Pennsylvania assistant coach Kyle Cerminara (1-0) will come in fresh from winning last weekend's Bellator tryouts in Hamilton, NJ to face journeyman John Doyle (9-17).
In other axtion, Muay Thai world champion Rami Ibrahim will return to MMA action, as will New York's Joey Gambino (6-0), who will put his undefeated record on the line.
Meanwhile, Philadelphia's Tuan Pham (3-4), who will look to inject himself into the top of the bantamweight division when he hooks up with Brandon Inskeep (4-6).
In the amateur undercard, the Locked in the Cage Featherweight Title is on the line when Alex Davydov (4-0) meets Ryan Cafaro (2-2) while 6-foot-5 Justin "Homicide" Haskell (1-0) returns to the scene of the crime when he tries to reenact his Thursday Night Fights 1 performance, this time against 6-foot-4 Bruce Fenimore (1-0). Eight more amateur bouts round out the card.
