"Andy Reid" to coach Wings in April Fool's prank

Andy Reid will coach the Philadelphia Wings of the National Lacrosse League (NLL) in a one-day-only appearance when the team hosts the Toronto Rock at the Wells Fargo Center on Saturday, April 2 at 7 p.m.

In the spirit of April Fool’s Day, Andy Reid, 34, of Mt. Airy, PA, who is actually a Sales Representative for General Mills, will stand on the Wings bench and coach the team during their pre-game warm-ups. He will then enjoy the game with his girlfriend Tiffany Johnson and a few friends.

“I really believe I can bring something to the Wings organization this weekend,” said Reid “I played basketball as a kid and have heard that indoor lacrosse is kind of close.”

The Wings are “kind of close” to clinching a 2011 NLL Playoff birth, sitting two and a half games behind the Rochester Knighthawks for the fourth and final spot in the NLL East.

Wings Head Coach John Tucker will take-over the coaching reigns, as usual, when the game actually begins.
