Temple's Wyatt named 2012-13 Philadelphia Big 5 Player of the Year

PHILADELPHIA – Temple senior guard Khalif Wyatt has been named the 2012-13 Philadelphia Big 5 Player of the Year. 

Wyatt, who is also a member of the all-Big 5 first team, will also be honored at the annual Big 5 banquet held at The Palestra on April 29 for leading the Big 5 in scoring.

Senior forward Rahlir Hollis-Jefferson represented Temple as a member of the all-Big 5 second team while graduate student guard T.J. DiLeo was named the city league’s Scholar-Athlete of the Year.

Wyatt was joined on the first team by La Salle’s Ramon Galloway and Tyreek Duren, Villanova’s JayVaughn Pinkston, and Saint Joseph’s Ronald Roberts. Joining Hollis-Jefferson on the second team are Ryan Arcidiacono and Mouphtaou Yarouof Villanova, and Saint Joseph’s Carl Jones and Langston Galloway.

Arcidiacono was named the Big 5 Rookie of the Year while La Salle’s Dr. John Giannini was named Coach of the Year.
