Phillies' Double-A team to change name

After 46 years of name recognition with their parent club, the Reading Phillies announced on Sunday that the team will change its moniker as part of a rebranding effort.

Reading has been the longest-tenured Eastern League franchise to be paired with one major league club continuously, and has been a stop along the path to the big leagues for such talent as Mike Schmidt and Ryan Howard.
