The Philadelphia Eagles have agreed to terms with RB Charles Scott on a four-year contract. Scott was the team’s 6th round draft pick from LSU in the 2010 draft.
The 5-11, 238-pound Scott played in 43 games and compiled 2,317 rushing yards (a 5.3 average) on 434 carries (a 5.3 average) and 32 touchdowns. The Tampa, FL, native capped off his career ranked fourth in school history in rushing touchdowns and seventh in rushing yards. His eight career 100-yard rushing games are also tied for fourth on the school’s all-time list.
Scott garnered first-team All-SEC honors as a junior in 2008 after tallying 1,174 rushing yards and 18 touchdowns. His 18 rushing touchdowns are tied for fifth all-time on the SEC single-season list alongside former Eagle Herschel Walker (Georgia, 1981). Scott was one touchdown shy of LaBrandon Toefield’s single-season school record of 19 in 2001.
A three-time all-district honoree from Jonesboro-Hodge HS, Scott was tagged as the state’s Gatorade Player of the Year, in addition to being named Louisiana’s “Mr. Football” after rushing for 2,039 yards and adding 28 touchdowns as a senior.
