Barry finds a foil

Curt Schilling is as unlikable as they come.

Just ask Mitch Williams, who can’t stop ripping the guy since 1993...

Or Darren Daulton -- a lot of people think Dutch is crazy when he talks to lizards but he’s really just trying to find some kind of creature that can stand Schill...

Or how about Ed Wade? Maybe the most vilified man in recent Phils history gave us the best quote of the past 20 years -- “Once every five days, Curt (Schilling) is a horse. The other four days, he is a horse’s ass.”

Yep...simply put...virtually no one likes Curt Schilling.

And now, baseball’s biggest cheat is about to take on its biggest idiot.

The New York Daily News is reporting that Barry Bonds has bolstered his legal team with the intention of suing Schilling. Bonds has already retained a pair of attorneys for a possible defamation lawsuit against the loud-mouthed pitcher.

This all stems from HBO’s "Costas Now" program when Schilling called Bonds out.

"If I wrote a book about Bob Costas and in that book I wrote about Bob Costas' girlfriend being on the road, and Bob Costas giving that girlfriend card-show money and I outlined your daily steroid regimen, I've got to believe your first line of defense is to sue my (butt) off," Schilling said on the program.

And that was just part of an “apology” for an earlier statement when Schilling said Bonds ‘cheated on his wife, cheated on his taxes and cheated on the game.’

Considering Bonds is already is the key target of the current BALCO steroids investigation , it’s almost comical that he is wasting his time on a fellow cheat.

No, I am not accusing Schilling of stepping out on his wife, swindling the Feds out of their hard-earned money or even taking steroids -- I am accusing him of lying in front of congress about steroid abuse, however.

Schilling’s embarrassing performance on Capitol Hill is often overlooked in the wake of the discomforting displays by Mark McGwire, Sammy Sosa and Rafael Palmeiro, But, the veteran pitcher was every bit as bad as his cohorts when he buried his head in the sand, feigning ignorance to an epidemic everyone in the game was well aware of.

No word if Vince McMahon is prepared to offer the main event at Wrestlemania 24 to Bonds and Schilling but if he does, Bonds will be playing a new role -- the babyface.
