Philadelphia Eagles All-Pro guard Shawn Andrews has been shelved indefinitely with a right ankle injury.
Andrews missed practice Thursday after visiting an ankle specialist on Wednesday.
"He was examined yesterday by our team orthopedist, Dr. Peter Deluca, and an ankle specialist in Philadelphia," Eagles coach Andy Reid said. "His right ankle, the same ankle which was surgically repaired during his rookie season, will continue to be monitored and evaluated over the next several days. He will rest it during that time with the use of a walking boot and crutches."
A 2004 first-round pick, Andrews' rookie season was cut short after fracturing his right fibula in his first NFL game. He rebounded to start all 16 games in 2005 and 2006.
