Phils may be in pursuit of Towers

According to a report in the Toronto Sun, Ruben Amaro Jr. made a trip to Toronto this weekend to scout Blue Jays pitcher Josh Towers.
He undoubtedly was impressed with what he saw, as Towers tossed 6 2/3 scoreless innings in a 1-0 win over Seattle.
The 6-1 right-hander is now is 5-6 with a 4.97 earned run average in 12 starts for the Jays. He has pitched 831/3 innings in 18 games, fanning 60 while walking just 14 . Over six-plus seasons in the majors with Toronto and Baltimore, Towers is 45-51 with a 4.90 ERA.
He is slated to make just under $3 million this year.
