Philadelphia, Pa. - June 27, 2007 - The Philadelphia 76ers will host a 2007 NBA Draft Party, sponsored by T-Mobile, at the Wachovia Center on Thursday, June 28. Doors open to the general public at 7 p.m. and admission is free.
All picks will be shown live to fans on a large screen located on the Wachovia Center event floor. Fans will also witness a "show within the show," as 76ers Play-by-Play Announcer Marc Zumoff and Comcast SportsNet Post-Game Analyst Bob Salmi will provide draft analysis through exclusive interviews with both current and former Sixers players as well as Philadelphia-area college coaches in between picks.
Among alumni expected to attend are Bobby Jones (1978-86) and Clint Richardson (1979-85), both members of the 1983 championship team; Aaron McKie (1997-2005), a member of the 2001 team that reached the NBA Finals; Manute Bol (1990-94), who ranks second in league history with an average 3.34 blocks per game; one of the top-20 scorers in franchise history, Clarence Weatherspoon (1992-98); Ambassador of 76ers Basketball World B. Free (1975-78, 1986-87); current college assistant coaches Johnny Dawkins (1989-94) of Duke University, Tim Perry (1992-96) of Holy Family University, and Ed Pinckney (1995-96) of Villanova University. Also joining in the festivities will be Villanova University Head Men's Basketball Coach, Jay Wright.
All fans in attendance will receive a collector's draft poster highlighting the past, present and future, as well as the Draft Edition of Drive, the Official Magazine of the Philadelphia 76ers, courtesy of T-Mobile.
The first selection in the 2007 NBA Draft will be made at approximately 7:30 p.m. The Sixers have three first-round picks (Nos. 12, 21, 30) and one second-round pick (No. 38) entering the 2007 NBA Draft. Teams have five minutes to make selections in the first round.
