Sproles named class of NFC offensive players

New York, NY -- Philadelphia Eagles running back Darren Sproles was named the NFC's top offensive performer for Week 2 of the NFL season on Wednesday.

Sproles earned his first career offensive player of the week award after catching seven passes for a career-high 152 yards and adding a 19-yard touchdown run in the Eagles' come-from-behind 30-27 win at Indianapolis on Monday night.

He became the first running back with two receptions of at least 50 yards in one game since Eric Metcalf of the Cleveland Browns in 1992.
